getting started

who provides installation?

A Unified team member will remotely install the system in your office, with the help of an on-site office staff person. Prior to the installation, we’ll need guidance on your current office flow, so we’re sure to install Unified in as seamless a manner as possible. After some initial on-site help to install TeamViewer on the computers involved in the equipment integrations, our team can typically complete installation independently. We’ll then arrange separate complimentary trainings for support staff, and providers.

We strive to provide full installation and training services remotely, in an effort to keep your onboarding costs as affordable as possible. If you prefer on-site installation, we can accommodate this for an additional cost.

do i need to buy new hardware?

No! You can upload, view, analyze, and share images with the hardware you have in your office today. Unified is a cloud-based data management solution, which means your images may be accessed from any supported web browser on any computer, phone, or tablet.

Our windows application, ImageAnywhere, can be downloaded through the Microsoft Windows store to any Windows 10 (or higher) computer. Image Anywhere automatically collects and sends data to Unified, allowing you to view your uploaded images from anywhere, on any device.

what about my historical data?

If you’d like all of your data uploaded at the out-set, we can provide a one-time legacy database upload for $1,500 for most retinal camera databases. You may also upload your legacy data over time independently, for no additional cost. We are always working on automating as much of the integration process as possible!

so i’ve signed up, what’s next?

Step 1. After sign up, your account is immediately available to you and unlocked for uploads. Feel free to play around!

Step 2. An initial call can be set up whenever is convenient for you. We’ll talk about the instruments you have in your office for integration, your current office flow, and answer any questions you may have.

Step 3. We’ll schedule a time that works for you for remote installation, and follow-up training with both support staff, and providers. If you have an IT expert, it’s ideal if they’re available the day of install in case any network connectivity issues arise.

Step 4. If needed, a Clinical Specialist is able to train staff on-site for an additional charge. We’ll also be monitoring your integrations, and checking in with your team for the first few days: we want your transition to the Unified platform to be as easy as possible! And we’re always reachable in the app’s live chat for questions or assistance.

data management

who owns my data?

You retain full ownership of any data uploaded to Unified. We only retain a copy of your original device data while you are using the service.

what happens to my data if i cancel my subscription?

We will store your data for up to 1 year and you will retain viewing access during this time.  Any time during this period your data can be exported to a PC or server you own and your entire folder structure can be transferred to your preferred storage solution.

Unified only takes a copy of your device’s data.  The original data still resides on the device.   Upon cancellation, you will still have access to your original data on the original device.

how does unified auto-fill patient data?

Unified is able to parse patient data from reports and metadata sent to Unified from your devices. Our Auto-save process will associate patients by their ID or by a combination of their first name, last name and date of birth.
Coming soon: HL7/FHIR interface.

image management

can images show up in the patient’s chart in addition to unified?

Sure, although this is not recommended as it is duplicating the image data. Images can be pushed by Unified to the EHR, but the EHR must be able to receive and determine where to store that data.

can you manually export images from Unified?

Yes, the Unified platform offers an ‘export image’ feature. This triggers the image to be exported in its original file format when first uploaded to Unified.

how does Unified help me not only view, but also manage my images?

Unified Imaging serves as your cloud-based image repository. Securely stored in the Microsoft Azure cloud with redundant back-ups, end-to-end encryption, and a full audit log means your images are safe and secure, while providing you with flexible viewing access. Our AI-powered Virtual Scribe helps you leverage your professional expertise with as few mouse clicks and keystrokes as possible; and the more you use it, the better it gets!

device connection

how do you connect to non-dicom devices?

This depends on the device, but the image is usually exported to a folder located on the device or your network. The patient demographics are then extracted from the file, and sent together with the image file into Unified by an instance of ImageAnywhere, our Windows application.

how is unified accessed through the patient’s EHR chart?

Unified is accessed via weblink, which can be a separate button inside the patient’s chart, or hidden behind any existing button they are currently using to access images. We can provide the vendor instructions for using weblink with EHR template. It will be encrypted and embedded with the patient ID which takes the user directly from the chart to the patient in Unified, automatically logging them in.

how do you connect to devices that cannot access the internet?

As long as the device can save images to a network drive, images can be uploaded to Unified. Otherwise images will need to be manually moved via thumb drive or other external hard drive to a networked computer, from which they may be uploaded to Unified.

how much internet bandwidth do i need?

We recommend at least 5MB of bandwidth upload and download for uninterrupted access. This can be tested at ‘speedtest.net’. No T1 line or VPN is required.
